Philipp Requat, Founder and Director
Philipp is an interdisciplinary social scientist with subject matter expertise in International Policy Economy and Economic and Financial History. His recent research, policy analysis & writing hast mostly focused on the governance of international capital markets.
Philipp began his career by co-founding a Real Estate Development company and sustainable gemstone mining operation in Sri Lanka in the wake of the country's recently-concluded civil war in 2010. Given strong economic growth and increasing interest from foreign investors in the region, he established the consulting platform "Requat Advisory" (incorporated later as a UK Plc) during the same year and began to use his local experience to offer political risk analysis, regulatory consulting and representation services to new market entrants. Limited to Sri Lanka at first, these activities expanded to the wider South Asia, East Africa and Europe.
Impressed by the diversity of institutional and material circumstances which he experienced in these roles, Philipp became keen to gain deeper insight into the nexus of politics and economics. He consequently enrolled in a four-year interdisciplinary M.A. in Politics and Economic and Social History at the University of Edinburgh. Philipp graduated with First Class Honours and received international awards for his writing & analysis, leading to invitations to participate in several academic research and journalistic projects during and after the programme. Alongside his ongoing work as Director of Requat Advisory Ltd, Philipp subsequently completed postgraduate studies at the University of Cambridge in International Relations & Politics with Merit in which he placed a topical focus on European Union (EU) policymaking and international monetary relations.
Philipp's formal training as a political economist witnessed a shift in the geographic and topical emphases of his consulting services towards European Affairs & Regulation. He is currently on leave from Requat Advisory Ltd while working as a Bank Resolution Expert at the Single Resolution Board, the central resolution authority of the European Banking Union.

Lynn Davies, Co-Director
Lynn is a trained systematic reviewer with proficiency in the analysis of both quantitative and qualitative data, and has extensive experience in research, writing, and editing for diverse audiences across a wide range of academic disciplines including literature, history, politics, pharmaceuticals, and the social sciences. She holds an M.Sc. with Distinction in Evidence-Based Social Intervention and Policy Evaluation from the University of Oxford, and a First-Class M.A. (Hons) degree in English Literature and History from the University of Edinburgh.
Lynn grew up as an expatriate in Trinidad and Egypt, and returned to her native Scotland to pursue undergraduate studies. Alongside her undergraduate education, Lynn spent two years as a regional and chief copy-editor for Edinburgh University’s Leviathan Journal, providing standardised copy-editing to over 50 political science submissions in total. She also gained training and experience in befriending, mentoring, and peer education for a variety of vulnerable populations including unemployed BME persons, at-risk adolescents, and individuals living with HIV and Hepatitis C. Having been inspired by these experiences to develop a deeper understanding of 'best practice' approaches to the amelioration of social problems, she joined Oxford University’s Department of Social Policy and Intervention as a master's student, where she specialised in evidence-based health communication, population-level behaviour change, and child and family welfare. She was also an active member of the Graduate Common Room Committee at Green Templeton College, and received a Nautilus Award in recognition of the pastoral support and events planning she provided to students with partners and children.
Following completion of her postgraduate degree, Lynn was involved in the screening, analysis, and write-up of systematic reviews across a range of disease areas for clients in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries. She has since contributed to a systematic review on psychometric tools for the measurement of child maltreatment based at her old department at Oxford, and is currently conducting a novel systematic review in the field of evidence-based health communication in partnership with academics at the University of Birmingham and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. In collaboration with RAND Europe, she is also providing support in the editing and drafting of online content and policy memos for the EU Commission's European Platform for Investing in Children.
